וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜ד אֶל־אָכִ֗ישׁ כִּ֣י מֶ֤ה עָשִׂ֨יתִי֙ וּמַה־מָּצָ֣אתָ בְעַבְדְּךָ֔ מִיֹּום֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיִ֣יתִי לְפָנֶ֔יךָ עַ֖ד הַיֹּ֣ום הַזֶּ֑ה כִּ֣י לֹ֤א אָבֹוא֙ וְנִלְחַ֔מְתִּי בְּאֹיְבֵ֖י אֲדֹנִ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
